Our AI models are integrated into solutions for legal and financial professionals in a variety of industries, such as lawyers, attorneys, lessors, accountants, human resources departments and government entities.
At Bylaw, we specialize in automated records processing, leveraging AI techniques to classify and extract data from different types of documents such as bank loans, rental records, real estate leases, receivables, account balances, and much more. Our expertise also extends to the use of generative AI techniques to exploit databases and generate automatic reports.
As Lead Data Scientist at Bylaw, you will play a key role in creating new models for our customers, while leading the technological direction of our business. You will manage a team of four Senior Data Scientists and work closely with the CTO to guide Bylaw's future innovation.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead the development of our product suite, contributing to the improvement of document extraction, classification, fraud detection, data analysis and reporting solutions.
- Work with different types of data, including structured data, free text, PDF documents and images, to develop, test and improve models for our various needs.
- Oversee the production release of these templates in close collaboration with the ML Ops team.
- Automate tasks such as labeling, data verification and performance monitoring of models in production.
- Support and guide the various members of the data science team.
Your skills :
We're looking for candidates with diverse skills to help us build excellent technology solutions for our customers. The following qualifications are essential for the Lead Data Scientist position:
- You have between 6 and 9 years' experience in Data Science - including at least 2 years as a Lead
- You are a graduate of a Grande Ecole or already have significant experience in processing data in complex documents.
- Strong programming skills. At Bylaw, we value people who can write high-quality, maintainable code that runs reliably every day.
- You are familiar with NLP and Computer Vision topics.
- You've already put your Machine Learning models into production
- You are sensitive to performance and scalability issues in a high-volume data environment.
- At ease in a management role, with excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and master the commercial aspects of our products. Although prior knowledge of our sectors is not mandatory, a keen interest in understanding its dynamics is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English and French.
